What Is The Minimal Viable Step I Can Take Today?
We say things like that- we're just pushing it out, we're expanding, we're kicking a tire down the road. Whereas, when you said deadlines, you make a list and don't just get stuck in a list because it can't end there and that's not enough.
If you don't act on it
There's a window of time. When there's a thing that you wanna do and it's fresh on your mind. You think about it and you're ready. You're motivated to do the thing. If you don't act on it then that window closes. And what happens is it gets pushed back and other garbage enters the front of your mind. It makes excuses and it makes sometimes reasonable and rational excuses as to why you can't. Why now is not a good time.
Dichotomy Between Process and Outcome
It's hard to be far from the outcome and to enjoy the process. That's a hard mindset shift. And look, I do think there's a dichotomy because results are important as is performance.
It's about what you do...
Take the unnecessary pressure off of yourself that you need to be in a certain way. You need to do a certain thing today. That's just not how it works and instead know that it's a long game.
When's the last time you actually stopped?
But when you can take the time to actually acknowledge where you're at and where you wanna be in a very specific way. It will provide a clear path forward toward where you wanna be.
This is where you are right now...
You're in the process. And until you start looking at it as such, you're going to keep moving further and further away. It's not supposed to come easy. If it did, as you know, everybody would be healthy and happy, and energetic.
Take That Little Step Today
It sounds silly but that little bit of change can make a significant impact by way of the stress and the pressures that you're putting on yourself day in and day out. When you're focusing on that massive change you think you need to make. You don't need to make that big of a change.
